It’s been a crazy, up and down week out here. My watch and camera broke within 30 seconds of each other (don’t worry, I can probably get the camera fixed…hopefully), gained 22 potentials through tracting, and as I was sitting down to write this, a lady walked up to us in the Grinnell library and gave us 2 referrals..followed immediately by our phone buzzing with another referral from church headquarters. And I turn 5 months old tomorrow!
Thanksgiving was great! We had dinner at the Skousen’s home here in Grinnell along with the senior missionaries serving in our area, the Mortensons (Provo, UT). Bro. Mortenson and I get along really well because we are two of the only BYU fans out here. For some odd reason, all of the members out here are from the U. Kids these days…
Grinnell is definitely a unique place to serve in. Th experiences that I have gained in the two weeks here have been amazing. I have learned so much being a trainer to my companion, Elder Garner (who by the way is John H. Groberg’s grandson…the one from “The Other Side of Heaven”). From washing my laundry in the sink because I can’t afford to wash it at the laundromat to playing bingo at the local senior care center with some wonderful elderly ladies to setting up Christmas trees at the hospital… What an experience! I love it.
The Lord is my Shepherd. He is your Shepherd. I love Him, bear my testimony of Him, and wish all to come unto Him.
